I built this wooden train table for my son’s 2nd birthday in 2017.
I wanted a table that would stay useful long after my son outgrew his wooden trains, so I designed the table with a removable top. We're going to need room for LEGO building in the future!
Table frame cut and ready for assembly.
Assembling the frame.
Primed and in the process of adding the first coat of paint.
I must have tried a million different layouts before I finally settled on this one.
Ground and vegetation painted. Time to screw down the tracks.
Tracks screwed down. Buildings, signs, and trees added.
Looking good!
I added handles on each end, allowing the entire top to be easily removed.
He loved it!
Building this table for the future really paid off. It now makes a great LEGO table!
